Why I do this
I have never learned how to build a small project like a small project.
01 / The day jobI spent eight years inside banks, fintech and insurance. Big buildings, big numbers. And the one thing I carried out with me was this: people do not buy the best. They buy the one they trust first.
02 / The nightsFor two of those years I built websites at night, after the day job, because I could not leave it alone. Then I stopped calling it a side thing and started Mago Labs.
03 / YouHere is what I know about you. You are good. Seriously good. Your work is poured, laid, dug and fixed all over town, and it will still be standing long after the invoice is forgotten. The people who have seen it swear by you. But the people who have not are searching right now, and they are finding somebody with half your skill and a better website.
04 / Why it bothers meThat bothers me more than it should. I get attached. So I build every site as if it were my own name on the side of the truck. And when your phone rings with a stranger who already trusts you, that is my win. When you tell a friend who built it, that is the only referral I am after.
